Canada Ball Hockey Names 2023 Management Group For Junior Team Canada Program
Birkett, Close and Slavin to lead Canada’s National Junior Teams
Preparations for the 2023 ISBHF World Junior Championships are underway, and Canada Ball Hockey will be working with three accomplished executives as part of its Junior Team Canada management group.
Clay Birkett (New Tecumseth, ON) will make his debut as a member of the JTC management group with the Under-16 Men’s program, guiding this team at the 2023 ISBHF Under-16 World Cup. Danielle Close (Oshawa, ON) will also be making her debut and will be taking on the Under-20 Women’s program at the 2023 ISBHF Worlds. Gary Slavin (Maple Ridge, BC) returns to the program in 2023 and has been with the Junior Team Canada program since 2008. Gary will lead the Under-18 and Under-20 Men’s program for the 2023 ISBHF World Championships.
“We are excited to provide consistency to our Junior Team Canada Program by welcoming Gary back to the program at the U18 and U20 levels,” said Tim McKenzie Canada Ball Hockey Vice President of Minors. “We are also thrilled to have Clay and Danielle making their debut to our Junior Team Canada Program. We believe these three will provide outstanding leadership as we prepare for the upcoming world events, and their experience will prove to be a great asset as we continue to build and excel at all levels of the program.”
